                                     Welcome to Flood Barriers .Biz
Each year the search for protection against flooding grows ever larger by home owners,
business owners, municipalities, etc. Conventional sandbagging is extremely slow, requires a great deal of labor and may not be totally effective in the end. Once the flood
waters have receded the question arises " What are we going to do with all these bags of
sand". Erectable flood barriers aren't new either. Most flood barrier panels, whether
aluminum panels, water filled tubes, etc. can be very expensive, very heavy, and usually
require a contracting company to erect.
For many years we kept thinking that there must be a better way. Well there is a better
way and we found it. More than two years were spent researching, constructing, and
testing various materials and designs in the search for the best possible defence against
flooding.

The solution is a flood barrier that is:

  • The least expensive flood barrier available
  • The easiest flood barrier to install in rapid time
  • A self standing flood barrier that does not rely on the protected building for support
  • Easily installed by one person using only one tool
  • The easiest flood barrier to manufacture (for lower cost to consumer)
  • Installed in sectional heights as needed
  • Capable of withholding flood waters for several days without any leakage

The photo below shows the first section of the prototype panels in place and being tested. Each prototype panel measures 24 inches in height and 96 inches in length, however these
panels can be produced in virtually any size or any shape desired. Each prototype panel weighs approximately 36 pounds or about the same weight as the average filled sandbag. The panels are made of lightweight, rigid plastic using a plastic welding technology. This photo shows the test tank holding 128 cubic feet of water / 957 gallons / 7,974 pounds (specific gravity).

This next photo shows the third section of the prototype panels in place and being tested. After being filled with 6 feet of water, the test panels firmly held 384 cubic feet of water / 2,872 gallons / 23,923 pounds (specific gravity).

This website is dedicated to the sale of the flood barrier patent. This patent was just recently issued and these flood barrier panels have never been produced for sale nor has the patent ever been leased for use to any contractor. Figure 1 below shows an artists drawing of the flood barrier panels being installed around the protected structure.
